Los grandes días de mi vida
(The Great Days of My Life)
It was the 16th of October 1993, the date of my birth. My beloved parents Cristito Hermida and Marilyn Aranda-Hermida called me Kristina Hermida. I was their first child, with 3 siblings, two boys and one girl. At 4 yrs old I enter my kindergarten, I was there the youngest of them all because I studied earlier. I remember how my classmates cry if their mother needs to leave even though I wanted too also, but because I’ am afraid to my teacher I did not used to. At 5 yrs old I became a grade 1 student at Napindan Elementary school together with my two cousins Rachelle and Michael, Rachelle was born September 2,1993 and Michael was born on October 17, 1993 I’ am one day older than hi. Since we are all 5 yrs old, the school does not want us to enter grade 1, because that age is not fully prepared to study and it was claim by the principal. We should be 6 yrs old to be accepted. My auntie who is Michaels mother is working there as a teacher, so she talks to the principal and convince her to accept us, but the principal give us a condition, she wanted us to take an exam to see if we are really capable to enter the grade 1, she says this is the only way and only favor she can give, if we pass the test then we can go, then luckily, we passed and now we are permitted to enter the Grade 1, and the principal says that our score will be based on what section we are going through. Rachelle and Michael are now attending their class in section 2 while I myself will be separated from them because I’m on in section 1. That time we are all started became popular in our school because of my auntie.
Then our teacher wanted us to join in the drum and lyre, I really wanted it also, so we join, and, Rachelle and I go in the field of majorettes while Michael is in the field of drummers. Until grade 2 we still enjoy being part of it. Our school join in different competition where as we compete to different school in Taguig. We are very proud because we became the 3rd place. When we are in grade 3 we need to transfer to Tipas Elementary school because Napindan is too far away from our home where Tipas is just a walking distance away. Being a transferee is not that easy, you have to find friends again, all are new, new uniform, new teacher everything. The school is bigger but I ‘am so happy because my teacher is kind not what I’m expected to. Even we transfer from our new school it’s not a hindrance for us to not to continue joining different activities in our school we still join in drum and lyre where in there are times that we compete in my former school where I can see my friends. Until such time our school is invited to join to a drum and lyre contest where all of school here in Taguig are going to compete, and so it was happened in our school it is a privilege to be a part of that event very unforgettable. But then when times goes by, we cannot stay that long in Elementary, and now it is our graduation day where we have to say goodbye, thank you and see you again to our friends because we cannot say if we can see each other again.
First day high in High school!! I studied at Sta. Martha Educational center somewhere in Pasig city a private school, Even though I know that it is very expensive to study in that school but my parents wanted it, so I know even it is hard for them I promised to myself I will study harder and do my best. Joining different activities is what I love, I joined different dance contest in our barangay, even in our school. There are times that my father gets mad of me because he says why I waste my time in that joining contest. But I really love what I’m doing. There are times we wanted to earn money so we join in Dunkin Donuts dancing contest we pass different requirements, practice hardly but we lose but it is okay it is part of life. Until such time someone called us, that they need dancers to have some intermission in their event, they chose us because they like the way we dance the event will be at Robinsons Galleria, they are in the foods and the payment. It was really good news for us, with so mush of happiness. When our school knows about it, they wanted us to join at Crissa jeans dance competition and they will support us, our school is willing to pay for the choreographer and for our costume. It was a great experience, where Miko Aitona dancer in SOP that time at GMA channel 7 is the host of that event, and some of our judges are member of Manouvers, Even though we did not won, it was really a great experience and it was the first time of our school to join in that kind of contest. And for the second time we join again in AMA computer dance competition, the school is willing again to support for our needs, at this time the host of that event is Donita Rose and our judges are the street boys where Danilo Barrios, Jhong Hillario and other members are participated.
